Naturopathic School of Ann Arbor is connecting with the Michigan Works/No Worker Left Behind funding program, administered out of Washtenaw County. OUR SCHOOL IS LISTED AS : Naturopathic School of the Healing Arts - please search by that name. This program may administer up to $10,000 over a two year period for qualified applicants - meaning those who are unemployed, and residing in a household with less than 40,000 income. Visit this link: http://www.mycareereducation.org If you visit Michigan Works offices now, learn what you need to about your eligibility status in general, and prospective students really need to "go to bat" for themselves and their plans and dreams- Michigan Works will screen all applicants, and this is not an entitlement program. Going to our local ( Washtenaw County, Key Bank Building) agency, here where the school resides, is your best bet for pursuing funding to attend Naturopathic School of the Healing Arts, given that our School is in this county, and this agency is likely to have more funds. WORK EXCHANGE- We have limited work exchange opportunities for second and third year students in excellent standing, who are able to exchange work for tuition. Applicants may exchange up to $3,000.00 per year in tuition fees if they are accepted to this program. To qualify, students must : 1) Be fully available to do the work- meaning your schedule will fully accommodate 5 hours per week/20 hours per month of work, on a firm schedule. Work Exchange program participants must understand that NSAA counts on the work, and cannot negotiate around individual schedules each week. 2) Complete 2 months of provisional work exchange prior to full acceptance in the program. 3) Follow customary application and enrollment procedures, and pay a $2000.00 deposit on overall annual tuition to enter the program as a work exchange student. All fees (herb lab fees, paper fees, etc) must also be paid, as well as tuition balances, in a timely manner and are not included in the exchange. Students wishing to explore the work exchange program may call our office : 734-769-7794. See our 'Programs, Tuition " page on this site for details on all programs offered through NSAA. Core Naturopathy Program TUITION : FIRST YEAR: $5,200.00 SECOND YEAR 6,200.00 THIRD YEAR 6,500.00 TOTAL 17,900.00 Fees: A number of school fees, including an annual paper fee ($70), an herb lab fee ($250.00 per year) and fees ranging from 15-25$ for extraneous administrative requests are noted in our catalog. As students evolve into practitioners, as is the intention of the program. they are expected to purchase their own therapeutic supplies as they move through the program. These include hydrotherapy supplies, a massage table (range: 150-200$) iris analysis supplies (about $25), notebooks, and observe a suggested book budget of $200- 300.00 for recommended or required books. Students in most programs will be actively using the tools and equipment of the naturopath scope of practice for assignments, field work, and projects. _______________________________________________________________ In the near future we may consider working in connection with the Sallie Mae programs, which are credit-based private student loans. In this program, students pursue and obtain loans by their own efforts; the loans are approved in relation to the program they are intended to be used for. _________________________________________________________________ Naturopathic College currently does not extend financial aid, however, payment plans have assisted students in the past. PAYMENT PLANS THROUGH THE SCHOOL With your $2,000.00 initial payment, we offer monthly payment plans which add a charge for taking on outside debt. Qualifying for the payment plan option may help some students strengthen their credit profile, and, while this pathway costs a little more than paying tuition annually in the customary fashion, the payment plan contract may be a healthier financial choice for many students in contrast to taking on large loans to repay years later. Additional details are outlined in the program catalog. Overall economic savings are to be gained by paying tuition up front, and there is an $800.00-1,200.00savings overall in paying for the diploma program in advance from year to year, during each of the 3 years. Another approach which may be helpful in overall planning is to take classes on an individual basis initially, while your own financial resources are being developed. This approach postpones actual contractual program enrollment while giving students a foothold in the program courses. Participants may explore options to earn income in various capacities while training, offering specific bodywork therapies, limited herbal consultations, herbal product enterprises, and limited opportunities for work study within our organization. At a more advanced educational level, additional opportunities may be explored. You are welcome to bring your questions to our staff. |
